Hey all, Jeff here…been off the grid for awhile and finally coming out of the bunker to say what’s up! There has been a lot going on behind the scenes in the past 6 weeks or so and it’s time to finally fill you in. The big news is that we have a new single going to radio on February 13!  “There She Goes” is one of the staples in our live show and has been a song with us from the beginning…we’re so excited about giving it a shot!  Let your stations know you want to hear it!

A lot of you have also been asking about tour dates and we are still working out our touring plans for the spring and summer.  We will be announcing some dates in the next few weeks.

Other than that, we have all been writing a bunch and hanging out with our families, good recharge for the next push.

Thanks for your support as always….talk soon!

"Country music has evolved into the 21st century as well as any pop music out there, and whether one is happy about how it’s done that or not, the fact remains that it has stood its own and even increased its audience in an incredibly diverse and challenging musical era. Yeah, most of the big hits really sound like pop/rock with Nashville vocals, all big drums and stinging electric guitar leads, and the lyrics feign authenticity by name-checking Hank WilliamsGeorge Jones, and other country icons while praising the glories of back roads and late-night bars (and dalliances) in an unabashed and deliberate nostalgia that recasts the past in the present as if the only thing that really changes these days is the digital cloud. It is what it is, which brings us to the Dirt Drifters, a band that plays an Americana-infused version of contemporary country that is Nashville enough to sound good on the country stations and rock enough to remind one of blue-collar rockers like Tom Petty and John Mellencamp, or even the harder side of the Eagles and California country-rock. In truth, much like the Zac Brown Bandthe Dirt Drifters straddle the country, Americana, and rock genres with a kind of easy grace, and they don’t sound manufactured for success. They sound like a real band. There are some real gems on This Is My Blood, the group’s first album, including the lead track, the timely and rocking “Something Better,” the somber and wise “Hurt Somebody,” the striking “Married Men and Motel Rooms,” a cautionary tale if there ever were one, and the Saturday night anthem “Just Got Tonight.” Nothing here reinvents country, but what the Dirt Drifters do is sound natural and grounded with their sound. Call it 21st century honky tonk with a little dose of the Flying Burrito Brothers andDiamond Rio tossed into the mix. That’ll work, even in the digital cloud."

As we close another year and are planning on some much needed time off over the holidays, we are again reminded of how much we appreciate your continued support of all we do.

2011 brought the release of our debut single, “Something Better,” to radio, the release of our debut album, “This Is My Blood,” as well as over 100 live performances in cities all across the United States.

We have enjoyed meeting, spending time and getting to know you all a little better this year. For those we haven’t had the chance to personally meet, we hope that 2012 will give us that opportunity.

Our mission in this band has always been to record, release and perform music that tells our story and we are passionate about. We will continue to do exactly that.

May you have a wonderful holiday season and we can’t wait to get back out to see you next year!

    See you on the road,
    The Dirt Drifters
Jeff, Matt, Ryan, Jeremy & Nick
