On Fire
hello everyone,
matt here, just finally slowing down long enough to breath...As you can see from our picture its true...the RV is out of commission...let me give you the "whole" story!
I feel like my best dog died
well around 6 months ago our best friend and road manager, Blue, tells us that his uncle has an old RV that he would sell to us, so we could have a tour bus... Blue's mom and dad spent a full week doing things like brakes, new hoses...and all the routine things that it needed badly.
Then Blue, Ryan, and Jeff flew out to Utah, paid $1500, and drove it all the way back to nashville. the band was so excited because we have been traveling in a van.
Three days later, before the maiden voyage, the transmission goes out. Then we all save up some money (alot)...and get a new tranny in it.. once that was done...we completely "gut" the inside of the RV..
Now that doesnt sound like much, but let me tell you, it was weeks of hard work. we removed half of the inside then rebuilt it custom for our band to travel in. DAMN WE WERE PROUD.. tv and all..
then we spent alot more money getting a new coolant system in it...had the generator rebuilt, and my mom made all new curtains for it....HAHA
And let me say that the curtains are perfect...
the RV was a family project, a band project, and has alot of love in it
and two days ago as we were rolling down the road here in Nashville, we smelled something burning. Then we REALLY smelled something burning...which was terrifying considering we just filled the 30 gallon propane tanks up.
we pulled over, and looked at the outside !!!
flames shooting out underneath, right by the propane tanks !!!
so we start grabbing drums guitars, amps, pictures and such and run !!!!
we called the fire dept and they show up about 4-5 mins later, open the door, and let the water fly !! they had about 3 trucks there, and also the chief of nashville fire was there! he said he wish he had one just like it! hahaha
they spray it down for probably 5 mins and then leave......
and that was it,
it got towed to my house and I'm now looking out the window at it, right now, and it makes me pretty sad honestly. I know something good will come along, and I know its just an ugly old RV, but man there was alot of love and divine intervention involved in the process..
god bless
Matt
