I saw a statistic last night that 97% of Americans remember exactly where they were and what they were doing when they heard about the 9/11 attacks.  I certainly do… I was working an office gig, sitting on a conference call discussing sales forecasts.  One of my co-workers in Atlanta said that a plane had hit the World Trade Center and I didn’t think much about it until my wife called later to tell me another plane had hit the other tower.  She kept me up to date for a couple of hours until I decided to go home.

Check out Country Weekly's review of 'This Is My Blood' which they gave four stars!

This road-tested group boasts tightknit sibling harmonies and an ear-pleasing tribute to the joys and tragedies of working folk and weekend warriors. Blue-collar themes (such as in standout cut “Name on My Shirt”) are woven throughout the album, landing The Dirt Drifters in the same territory of observant troubadours as John Mellencamp and Willie Nelson.

More than a hard-touring party band, the Drifters make music with well-crafted lyrics such as you use your red lipstick like a loaded gun on “Hurt

Well I just woke up after our first night in a new ride and wanted to tell you about our first night.  As with anything in this band, nothing is uneventful!

We were unloading all of our stuff from the RV to the new ride and as our Tour Manager, Snake, was walking down the steps he slipped and fell really hard down them. It scared us pretty bad 'cause he's one of those dudes that can handle pain and he was hurting.

Well we got on the road eventually and stopped and had dinner and we thought Snake was doing better and was just going to be really sore. Wrong!

Focus On The 615 recently reviewed The Dirt Drifter's debut album, "This Is My Blood" and gave it a 5 star rating! Check out what they had to say and then head on over to iTunes to get the album now, or grab your copy in-stores on September 13:

Rarely do I hear an album that I want to listen to each song and not skip over, at least, one or two of the songs.  I mean, that’s normal.  You’re just not going to love every song on an album.  There’s always a weak one.  Always.

Well, here it is Monday and I'm sitting in the lobby of our hotel in Colorado Springs after a killer weekend of shows watching ESPN getting jacked up for college football!! Yeah, baby.  My team, the Oklahoma Sooners, are ranked #1 so the world is right in my opinion. Now for Nick, it's been a bad week. His beloved LSU Tigers had a little off the field problem with some players including their starting quarterback so I took every opportunity to send him numerous texts telling him how bad LSU is!

Well,  everybody in the band has been in Nashville collectively over 10 years and have been blessed to meet some great people through the years that have been guiding lights and have believed in us.  Yesterday, I received some news that we lost one of those folks. His name was Frank Dileo. For those of you who didn't know Frank I'm going to take a second to tell you about him. My first experience of Frank was at a club in Nashville called 12th and Porter.
